Jiangsu's ports have been optimizing services and enhancing productivity in 2023, achieving a cargo throughput of 1.81 billion tons (up 1.4% YoY) and 14.87 million TEUs (up 3.3% YoY) in the first half of the year. Notably, foreign trade container throughput grew by 4.8%. Nantong Port's Fengshan terminal has utilized its multimodal transport advantages, seeing over a 50% increase in the transfer of emerging products. To support local industries, it is building new berths for efficient exports like ultra-high transformers. Meanwhile, Lianyungang's New Sulphur Terminal recorded a 6.67% YoY rise in May, with transshipment business surging 32.88%. Suzhou Port saw robust growth, particularly in high-tech and vehicle exports, highlighted by Taicang Port exporting 507,000 vehicles in five months, a 70% YoY increase.
